Apex120  High SPL Instrument
Overview

When close miking high SPL sound sources is required the Apex120 is the answer. Able to take the punishment of a kick drum or amp stack without breaking up, the Apex120 easily finds its way into any recording or live sound application where SPL levels of 130dB might be the norm. Often used in front of guitar amplifiers, bass amplifiers, surprisingly loud (at source) brass instruments like trumpet or trombone, in front of a kick drum or over a floor tom, the Apex120 delivers a clean 50 to 18,000Hz to the board. With a signal to noise ratio of 65dB, smooth bottom end and complete definition, this microphone easily operates at these extremely high SPL's that would leave most microphone diaphragms fluttering in the wind. The Apex120 has an integrated metal microphone clip assembly.
