The Apex AIB1 Isolation box is a high quality passive audio isolation box designed to kill ground loops and extraneous noise in audio systems while protecting the system components.
Signal at the input of the AIB1 is electronically isolated from the output through a pair of high performance transformers wound to ensure unity gain throughout the isolation box's signal path. The AIB1's audio transformers can handle impedances from 600 Ohms to 100 kOhms and, by design, have an extremely wide frequency range and a flat frequency response to ensure their transparency.
The AIB1 has XLR, 1/4-inch TRS, and RCA connections on all inputs and outputs that ensure it will easily fit into virtually any audio system. By design, the AIB1 will be a 'clean' patch point between all types of audio components. It is capable of handling high-level input signal while maintaining an isolated balanced output.
The AIB1 will isolate a signal source from expensive recording equipment and computer audio cards in a studio. It could be used to interface between computer based audio workstations and studio monitoring systems where extraneous voltage and floating grounds can induce noise and in rare cases cause damage to audio cards or hard drives.
In fixed installations the AIB1 can be used to insolate long cable runs to reduce RF induced noise. In many cases, the AIB1 will complete a safe and quiet connection between two audio systems and is the ideal solution when it becomes necessary to connect consumer grade audio components like VCRs and CD players to professional grade mixers and PA system components.
The compact anodized all aluminum case and its passive design allow the AIB1 to provide years of trouble free service in Live Sound, Permanent / Fixed Install, D.J., and virtually any PA application. Its full feature set, rugged construction, and high-end specifications make the AIB1 the obvious choice.
